Dr Jeffrey Milder

Conservation Scientist, Rainforest Alliance

I am a landscape ecologist with a research background evaluating the conservation impacts of potentially more sustainable designs for human-modified landscapes. My work at Rainforest Alliance focuses on incorporating best available scientific evidence into the organization's sustainability standards, training programmes, and overall strategy; conducting monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment of Rainforest Alliance's standards and interventions across the organization's project portfolio in agriculture (pan-tropical), forestry (boreal, temperate, and tropical), and tourism (Neotropical); and collaborating with research partners on broader efforts to assess and improve the effectiveness and impacts of sustainability certification as a strategy for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
