Responsible AI in conservation: A path to equity

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into conservation science and practice, it is critical to ensure its application promotes equity rather than exacerbates existing societal and global disparities. This panel will convene leading experts in AI, ecology, and/or conservation science to discuss the most pressing challenges and explore promising pathways to ensuring AI is used equitably in conservation. This is the latest event in our SIG’s Project Forward initiative, which aims to help people create future working environments that are equitable and inclusive, and to overcome some of the barriers to engaging in conservation and ecology careers.
