Finding & Travelling To The David Attenborough Building 


The David Attenborough Building is located in the centre of Cambridge, within the University of Cambridge's New Museums Site. The postcode of the building is CB2 3QZ (click here to view the location of this postcode on google maps).  You can download a pdf of the New Museums Site here, which shows the location of the David Attenborough Building in a little more detail, including bike parking as well as the main entrance routes into the New Museums Site.

By Bike

There are bike racks just outside the west side (New Museums Site) of the building. These secure, waterproof racks are solely for CCI partner use, and access is controlled by a combination code, which will be changed at regular intervals. Please contact reception for the code.

Additional bicycle parking can be found on the podium level of the east (Corn Exchange Street) side of the building, and in other locations on the New Museums Site.

The University operates a Park and Cycle facility at the West Cambridge Site (off Clerk Maxwell Road). This site is equipped with secure lockers for bikes. There are 30 spaces available for staff from CCI conservation organisation partners (University staff are catered for separately). Bookings for this facility should be made via this link. You will need to log in using your CRSid and Raven password, and then select Cambridge Conservation Initiative from the drop-down Department address. The Park and Cycle facility will be available on a first come, first served basis. Should this facility become oversubscribed CCI Services will introduce a process to allocate space within the Park and Cycle facility. 

Showers and lockers are available on the lower ground floor of the David Attenborough Building, accessed via a door on Corn Exchange Street. 

Public transport

The David Attenborough Building is close to the main bus station in Cambridge, Drummer Street, which is a few minute's walk away. Please visit the Cambridge Country Council's website for more information on bus timetables, routes, etc. 

Cambridge has five park and ride car parks, located around the city, You can view the map of the park and ride sites on the council's website

The railway station is c. 20-25 minutes' walk away from the building. Click here for a map of the walking route between the David Attenborough Building and the station. There is a taxi rank by the station as well as numerous bus stops.  

Car parking

There is no car parking on site. The nearest car park is the Grand Arcade car park, the entrance to which is on Corn Exchange Street. 

There are two disabled car-parking spaces within the New Museums Site. Please contact reception at least 24 hours in advance to request use of these spaces.
