Bees on the Verge: are roadsides a pollinator paradise or a potential problem?

PhD student Claire Wallace investigates the benefits and drawbacks of making our roadsides more pollinator-friendly. After an initial rundown of where our pollinators are right now, she will discuss her research relating to road verges and their potential for pollinator conservation. Should we be encouraging pollinators to use verges by planting them out with native wildflowers, or by doing this are we inadvertently exposing them to pollutants associated with traffic?
