For our next journal club meet (4-5pm, Tues 9 Feb) we're going to be discussing how population trends can arise (or disappear!) due to the statistical approach taken. The paper is a recent comment called “Accounting for year effects and sampling error in temporal analyses of invertebrate population and biodiversity change: a comment on Seibold et al. 2019”.

hile the main motivation for suggesting it was to discuss the methods used, it would also be interesting to discuss the whole process of comments on papers, responses to comments, responses to comments on comments etc etc etc…
