Global Food Security IRC Coffee Break Seminar: Sustainable seafood for health and the planet

Friday 6th October | 2pm (UK) | on-line

Speakers: Megan Walker and Jessa Garibay-Yayen (Department of Zoology, and Conservation Research Institute, University of Cambridge)

Jessa and Megan will give a brief talk about their research on seafood for societal health, followed by a Q&A and discussion.

Megan researches the role of fish and seafood in the first 1000 days of life, with the aim of discovering drivers and barriers to improved seafood consumption during this critical period of human development.

Jessa hopes to identify sustainable ways to influence behaviour change towards consuming under loved seafood, thereby reducing pressure on overexploited species.

Both of their studies aim to foster greater awareness and understanding among individuals, communities, and policymakers, to promote informed decision-making and sustainable approaches to seafood consumption.
