In our next group meeting we will be hearing from Jeremy Fonielle, who will give a talk on his research findings about organic matter diversity in lakes.

Abstract:
Freshwaters cover less than three percent of the earth's surface but process as much carbon as the oceans. An impressive diversity of organic compounds is then dissolved in inland waters. However, where the latter diversity originates and how it affects ecosystems remains largely unexplored. In this presentation, we will tackle how the connection between a lake and its catchment affects organic matter diversity and the consequences for the functioning of lakes.
