Author Professor Russell Fielding discussed artisanal whaling in St. Vincent & the Grenadines and the Faroe Islands, and issues related to conservation, cultural traditions, and globalized networks of food, information, and pollution.

Was a very popular event with Russell giving a honest and frank insight into whaling in these regions which generated a rich and interactive Q & A.

Bio: Russell Fielding is an environmental geographer and an assistant professor of environmental studies at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, USA. He has studied artisanal whaling traditions throughout the Atlantic since 2005, with field sites in the Faroe Islands, Newfoundland, and St. Vincent.
