Seed Funds Investment Associate (Physical Sciences)

Cambridge Enterprise are currently seeking an entrepreneurial Investment Associate for the Physical Sciences arm of our Seed Funds team, which manages a highly successful £30 million early stage technology fund and actively supports the development of technology start-ups from the University of Cambridge. The role offers an opportunity to work with remarkable founders, and a clear focus on the societal impact of the companies in which we invest.

Supported by and learning from Seed Fund Investment Managers, the post holder will work both with academics wishing to build new companies (to provide advice, mentoring, connections and investment), and with companies already within our portfolio. The work will also include transactional paperwork and straightforward legal agreements, carrying out due diligence checks, participating in outreach activities, and analysing data with the objective of strengthening relationships with external stakeholders.

Location: Our office base is in Cambridge, however due to our flexible and remote working ethos, we are also open to applications from outside the Cambridge area.

Commercialisation Associate (Physical Sciences)

We are seeking a Commercialisation Associate to join our Physical Sciences team. Our Commercialisation Associates play a key role in helping researchers develop their ideas, technologies and inventions into opportunities that are attractive to industry and investors.

The Associates guide academics through the commercialisation of their ideas and inventions, helping to identify the value of a technology (through prior art searches and market analysis) and working to further enhance its value. This varied role includes the protection of ideas through intellectual property management and licensing, drafting contracts, meeting with members of the academic community and the promotion of Cambridge Enterprise and industry collaborations.

Location: Our office base is in Cambridge, however due to our flexible and remote working ethos, we are also open to applications from outside the Cambridge area.

Post Deal Manager

The Post Deal Manager is a new role leading the post deal function within our Business Support team, which is responsible for our business intelligence and the administration and management of our intellectual property portfolio. The Post Deal Manager has line management responsibility for the Post Deal Coordinator.

The role manages relationships, both internally within Cambridge Enterprise and externally with licensees and other deal partners. The Post Deal Manager will monitor active commercial agreements, ensure compliance of deal obligations, and drive continuous improvement in processes and systems that support the post deal function.
