Conservation Research Institute

We are delighted to announce eight paid placements funded by the Conservation Research Institute. Projects will ideally be linked to CCI but we will also consider other interdisciplinary projects from across the university. This internship programme is only open to students from the University of Cambridge.

Both programmes will provide the opportunity to gain experience of working on current issues in conservation in the dynamic and impactful environment at the David Attenborough Building.

Interns will be fully integrated into the host’s organisation giving access to real-life institutional issues and the professionals that handle them. Central coordination of the programme will be at the Conservation Research Institute.

We expect this to be a competitive opportunity, particularly because so many students were unable to complete internships due to Covid-19.

We are particularly interested in encouraging applications from students from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds, we will provide more information on this when advertising the vacancies to students.

If you would like to take part in either or both of these exciting programmes and would like to propose an idea for these internships, please email Hawa Sydique at hma33@cam.ac.uk by Tuesday 16th February 2021. We are advertising this now, but appreciate everyone is winding down for Christmas and I will remind you in the New Year.

Please include the following details in your application. Applications should be no longer than two pages.

  • Name and detail of the project
  • The role of the intern
  • Student profile
  • Expected outputs
  • Who will supervise the student
