Conservation Research Institute

The Conservation Research Institute will reoccupy our space on Monday 12th April. We ask that you please familiarise yourself with the desk booking procedure and health & safety guidelines outlined within the updated Return to Work Booklet

The University of Cambridge

The University’s response to the pandemic has seen an enhanced use of flexible and agile working that have brought real benefits for many, however also recognises the difficulties others have faced being away from the work place.  The University has considered the latest Government guidance and has worked with institutions to put measures in place to ensure that you can return to your workplace safely. The University will continue to review and respond to any revised government guidance, ensuring that local measures continue to adapt as necessary.

CCI Campus and David Attenborough Building

The CCI Campus will re-open on 6th April (8am—6pm). The DAB will be open for members of staff who sit within the CRI space, however, visitors are not yet permitted. This means that CCI Services will provide its usual support functions, the shared areas will be accessible, and offices are able to re-open at a 20% capacity. Staff access cards will not be activated until discussions are held with managers.

Practical Checklist

  • Staff whose work cannot be done effectively otherwise than in the workplace are expected to come in.
  • Staff who are struggling to work from home for whatever reason should be prioritised for a return to the workplace where possible.
  • Staff who would prefer to work in the workplace rather than at home should have their preferences considered, subject to pressures of reduced on-site space capacity. Working part of the week at home and part in the workplace may be the right solution for manypeople.
  • Staff who would prefer to work from home and can do so productively, should continue to work from home but may be required to come into the workplace for specific reasons.

All of the above is subject to individual conversations with line managers.
