Conservation Research Institute

Dr. Jakub Kronenberg, an ecological economist, specializes in the investigation of environmental values and the institutional context of nature conservation, with a specific focus on urban green spaces and avian species. His work delves into critical issues associated with the neoliberal governance of nature, providing fresh insights into the The Conservation Research Institute's (CRI) "Values of nature" key research theme.

During his tenure at the University of Cambridge, he is engaged in a project titled “Environmental values and conservation rhetorics: exploring economic and other arguments for the conservation of birds,” funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

As part of his research, Dr. Kronenberg anticipates close collaboration with three bird conservation non-governmental organizations (NGOs) affiliated with the CRI. The intersectoral nature of the CRI and the influential role played by these NGOs were key factors that drew him to The Conservation Research Institute.
