Will is using remote sensing methods to measure forest carbon in Cairngorms National Park. Using a range of sensors from ground to the air – terrestrial laser scanning, aerial laser scanning and unmanned aerial vehicle laser scanning – he will be quantifying individual-tree and whole-forest biomass and carbon storage.

Christopher Bousfield

Chris Bousfield is a Postdoc who works on utilising satellite data to detect illegal logging in the Amazon rainforest. His focus is also on modeling the future impacts of wildfires on global timber production under climate change. Chris completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield, where he assessed the economic and environmental impacts of more sustainable selective logging strategies in the Amazon.
